Rolling Thunder Revue 2, Civic Center, Lakeland FL - 18.apr.1976 I'd like to tell you a story Of a man that you might know His parents they called him Vincent Painters all called him Vincent His last name was Van Gogh. He started in drinking and painting And leading a life of sin He fell in with evil companion A man they called Gauguin. So he came to the city of Auvers For persuing their carnal delight They painted all during the afternoon And they made thier music all night. Though the people of that small city Thought that he was a little bit weird To prove his love for mankind He chopped off his outside ear. They put him in an institution But they could not hold/keep him there He picked up his paints and his easel And he went out to take the/some air. And he picked up his paints and his easel He went out to paint some crows They found him face down in a corn field Shot right between two rows. Now where did Vincent Van go? |
